Metaphors matter and when it comes to how we shape our world storytelling is central to the human experience.

In fact the ability to project alternate realities into the past and future can be be what makes us human. They melt the glass of reality and refract our perceptions into what’s really going on.

Storytellers transmutate the truth. They are alchemist.

Alchemey and Elements

The Greeks believed in four elements: Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. The Chinese looked for external and internal elixirs to improve life. We gave life and power to so many things.

Stories are no different. They arose independently around the globe yet they hold some “natural truths” that shift slightly in culutres. You have conflict, characters, and transformations.

Elements interact, something happens you don’t really understand and a story is born. Pure Alchemy.
