The rules would work exactly the same on Mastodon. That could easily work. I can syndicate from my blog to Mastodon but can’t backfeed replies or collect webmentions.
I think we could fork the rules, use #DoOO, and build an rss planet as our playscape, one feed for zombies, on feed for humans, switch teams using tags.

Interesting. In some ways the game turned into that once people we’re applying the advances rules (safezone, etc) but used Twitter posts of blog links as “official record” and sometimes we really needed that.
My worry would be .. challenging to get people to play at all and Twitter made it open and inviting. More challenging obstacle if someone has to get a domain/federate or share it, deal with RSS? A barrier for some folks? #fordiscussion
Agreed. The nice thing about the game was how easy and casual it could be (in a space people already were and really basic rules to start) and then the extra rules opened things up as folks were drawn in. RSS is not a “space people already are” — at least not anymore.
Also would really love to have a non-public discussion with you and a couple others about my other game idea. Maybe your TvsZ energy would also be useful in that project? I have been wanting to set up a call with you for a while!

It is a game about zombies … Why can’t RSS come back from the undead.
Think folks want a Twitter alternative. Mastodon cool and all, but I prefer a #DoOO solution with feeds.
While not technically RSS the new #IndieWeb social readers are cool. (jgregorymcverry.com/5863-2/)
